Today, we are thrilled to share a very special primary bedroom based in Denver, CO. In addition to the primary suite, we also worked in the kitchen, dine-in area, dining room, main living room and basement. It was amazing seeing all of these spaces take shape for this special family, and today we are taking a deep dive into the bedroom to highlight features and note what makes this room exceptional.
There’s nothing I love more than seeing beautiful after photos that overflow with style, but my favorite part of working with clients is allowing them to really enjoy the design process without worrying about the many, many details.
Designing, selecting, ordering, installing and styling allows our clients to sit back and enjoy the fun parts, while we can lean into the logistics: sourcing, designing, measuring, tracking and styling dozens of pieces.
I keep thinking about my clients coming home that night with a totally transformed space and it brings me so much joy!

Now, let’s hop into the juicy details.
For finishes in this room, we decided to go with a warmer taupe paint color to make the space cozy and inviting. To find the perfect paint color, I always order actual painted-on samples from Samplize. This really helps you see how the color looks in your space and changes throughout the day with varying lighting.
After reviewing a few samples, we went ahead and decided on Benjamin Moore Smokey Taupe. I’ve used this color before, and I will use it again. It is so warm and pretty.
In addition to updating the wall color, we also swapped out the original fan for a jaw dropping chandelier. This piece really elevates the space.
This bed was the perfect selection for this space because the upholstered headboard adds warmth and texture, while the clean lines of the shape keep things streamlined.
For the bedding, we kept it fresh with white linens. This selection is very common in the design world because white linens keep things feeling like your favorite high end hotel: luxurious and crisp. The perfect ending and beginning to any day.
The maroon pillows and olive throw ties in colors from the rug and adds visual interest. The pillows are from McGee and Co, Serena and Lily and the throw blanket is from The Citizenry. All some of my favorite places to source accents.
And at the end of the bed, we have this really unique leather woven bench which not only looks beautiful but serves as a great spot to sit.
In our humble opinion, the nightstands in this space could be deemed the favorite child (children?). The reed detail, marble top-oh my! We added a white marble lamp on each of them and some styling pieces to make it feel cozy and inviting.
One of the best moments in this space is the sitting area. You know you’ve really made it when you have a sitting area in your bedroom! The cane back detail and rounded shape of the accent chair is absolutely stunning while the beautiful brass mirror adds a high impact. This is the perfect place to escape after a long day: sitting down to journal or read.
While making all major furniture purchases, we source as many styling pieces as possible and this space was no exception: sourcing the art, lamps, bedding, etc.
After the furniture delivery occurs, we will take a final assessment of the space to see if any additional pieces need to be added. For this space, most of the dresser and cabinet (living room) was styled on site. Styling is a critical, but an often overlooked, piece of the design process. It pulls everything together and brings it from good to great.
